Daily Draw: 28 Feb 2015

Four of Staves

A repeat of this card is a reminder to us that we need to find a balance in the things we do.

I think this is for myself. 2015 has started off with quite a few things running concurrently.

1) Band(s') matters
a) TP band concert coming within a month [28 Mar 2015. Mark your calendars people.. mark them down now!! =p ] With under a month of rehearsals, we are all feeling the stress, from the music selection, and [for some] from other members of the band.

b) LYSB training/tutoring. With the departure of the resident conductor, the old guys are a little worried for the band, and it's progress. This past year has seen a degrading of student's attitude towards this CCA, kids now-a-days do not see this band as a family as much as we old birds do back in those days [or even now, for some]

c) Kim Seng Winds. With the lack of availability of regular practices from TP & LYSB, and a deep wanting to continue this trait/interest, the invitation to join KSW seems like a draw to fulfill this 'want'.

That said, if all 3 bands are to run concurrently, then I'll have to commit the whole of Saturday to rehearsals - LYSB in the morning, TP in the afternoon, and KSW in the evening. And if I do, someone will be left out for a day, which is a major consideration for me when making decisions that relates to band commitments.

2) Work matters
With the change in my section head, things have been moving back on track for me towards what I was seeking for. I have been given more opportunities and ideas about marketing the career, rather than just managing my BAUs. I do feel that more support coming from my boss now as compared to when I first joined the company. I do appreciate and give my #gratitude to this change in my career track.

More programmes have been suggested, or brought up by higher management, that requires marketing, and also more creative work that needs to be done. However without having extra help due to the limited headcount, my 'to do' list just builds up over time. As at this point, I already have 16 items items to take care off, and some of them are actually due mid March.

3) Young Living
Having signed up for almost a year, I (we) truly believe in the products, as we have seen and heard about how the oils have benefited many. We truly want to make things work and run well, but because of our full-time jobs, we see that as a huge wall that is blocking our progress. That said, I am grateful for the acceptance and willingness of Tracy to try out the products and for her support to my team. Really hope this line will grow, and more people can benefit from the help and greatness the essential oils can offer. I can personally see that interest among colleagues has increased when I diffuse oils in office - which is really great news for us.. [so if anyone is keen to know more, please feel free to ask]

*****
So.. all that is happening in my life this year. That's why I believe that this card is a reminder to myself. It appeared just at the right time in my life and career. I think I need to manage my time better, manage the things I want to do, and see the true reason and how I am going to do these. I believe, and I know I can do it, I just need to set some time aside to set my priorities right on track.

Daily Draw: 27 Feb 2015

Queen of Staves

Accompanied by two maidens with a peacock fan and a golden censer, the Queen of Staves takes a stroll down the evening path.

This card represents a sympathetic and understanding person, who is also friendly, loving, practical, charming and graceful. This person could also be a gracious host/hostess.

Is this person you? They are great traits to possess, but one must also manage these traits well and not be too free to share them, or risk being taken advantage of.

Then again, on the flip side, it could also bring up issues today such as unstable emotions, jealousy, deceit, fickleness and resistance. Do keep up with the times, and not be trapped in traditional ways which could hinder your own development, what's worst, your social circle.

Daily Draw: 26 Feb 2015

Knight of Swords

The Knight rides swiftly away from his enemies on a magical flying horse.

This card brings out the bravery and skill of oneself. However this also signifies a rash act of a younger mind/character.

Are you working on a project, and pending some final decision? Hold it! Take a step back, take a breather, and access the situation again. Do not be too hot headed and rash to act. Consider the options and consequences before you lay that final brick.

Daily Draw: 25 Feb 2015

XX - Confucius

Confucius said: "The superior man is satisfied and composed, the ordinary man is always full of distress."
I personally think I live by this. Never wanting to let negativity bog me down. Always believe that there is no point in habouring negativity when they do no good at all to my personal development.

This card reminds us to seek atonement for our deeds, seek that fair judgement, and self-perspective in all we do or think. There is always room for developing oneself further. When you manage yourself well, great things are laid before you, and there will be promotion coming your way.

Four of Staves

An old man balances two staves skilfully. Peach blossoms at the background symbolise happiness.

Romance is in the air today. There is some sense of tranquility and harmony around you. Possibly a newly acquired prosperity. You are starting to see the fruits of your labour bearing in good time. This is the time where you rest after a moment of strife.

Daily Draw: 23 Feb 2015

XIX - The Sun (后羿射日)

A Chinese legend relates that in ancient times, there were nice suns in the sky. Scorched by the suns, Earth was almost bare and lifeless. Hou Yi, husband of the moon goddess, took his bow and arrow and shot down eight of the nine suns. With only one sun in the sky, Earth was saved.

This card signifies accomplishments, contentment, and success. Like Hou Yi, he accomplished a great deed to declare his love for Mother Earth, fostering a favourable relationship, love, and joy.
There is much to accomplish today. Consider your options, and go ahead with your decision. It may be thought as a harsh move, but if it's necessary, there is not much of an option to begin with.
Therefore, process the situation well, go with the flow, and manage the circumstances as they come. There is a Hou Yi in everyone. You can do it well.

II - High Priestess (女師太)

The abbess sits peacefully meditating with her prayer beads.
She is one of innate wisdom, one who is very knowledgeable from her own experiences, and not mainly from learnt literature or tradition.

This card reminds us to acknowledge that we ourselves have that innate wisdom to resolve or approach issues/concerns. Take time to meditate and analyse issues on your mind. Take them out of their normal environment, and look at them from a different angle. You may just surprise yourself by what you can get out of it.

Daily Draw: 18 Feb 2015

Queen of Coins

The suit of coins represents the physical realm, some issue that is currently bugging you. The Queen sits facing you, further emphasises an issue/concern that is current.

My take on this today, the eve of Lunar New Year 2015, as a reminder to us that no matter what experts say how your year ahead will be, we should take their words as a general guide, but not to be too tied up and affected by it. Take general caution of your health, finances, and behavior, and all should go well. Learn from yours and others' mistakes, so that we can mature meaningfully, and not just live a life as is.

The phoenix represents change and rebirth. One we can understand and learn, and live the present well enough, our future would be set in the right track towards abundance.
The queen also represents an abundance, fertility, and nurturing energy. Those who are married, may look forward to a possible addition to the family (quite in line with yesterday's report on Straits Times. "More marriages and babies last year bring cheer to Singapore")

Five of Swords

One handles five swords dexterously. This card talk about defeat, destruction of others and the possible arise of adversary.

Take this as a drive for you today. We won't know which side are we until we face the battle. The world will be a better place if there was no battle to begin with, but life as it is, takes us down some paths that tests our limits, but are truly lessons that we need to learn, so that we can better our lives down the road. Take it as road works along the way, thus taking detours, a longer route taken, but leading towards the same goal of life.

Weekly Draw: 15 Feb - 21 Feb 2015

Rose Petals

Your path ahead is starting to clear and all obstacles will soon vanish. Your time of waiting is over and you move forward with confidence and renewed clarity. The blocks and challenges you've faced in recent months were esstential to your ultimate success. Sometimes it's best to wait and let the universe act on it's own. Like nature has her seasons, we too have our seasons. We must respect life's ebb and flow. There is a time to move, and a time to be still. Now is your time, to allow your dreams to come to fruition, as with rose petals falling down from heaven. Enjoy this journey.

The Lunar New Year if just around the corner. This is indeed a great card to welcome the New Year - everything we all manifest before will come into fruition. The year of the goat will be a smooth sailing one with an abundance of greatness.

Affirmation:
I am one with the natural flow and rhythm of life.
All in my life comes to fruition at the most perfect time.
I am guided by the power of the universe,
and the power fo all heaven and earth.
I now move forward with confidence and ease.

Daily Draw: 14 Feb 2015

Strength (武松打虎)

The legendary hero, Wu Song, slaying the tiger reminds us on Valentine's Day of 2015, that everyone needs some form of strength to keep a relationship going. The emotional strength to keep the flame burning, mental strength to tick them off every so now and then (to spice things up a little), and physical strength to keep the pace up with them (amongst other activities that require physical strength ;p).

Seeing things from another point of view, we need to also see the strength you partner can offer you. We each have our different strengths that we can tap into, that complement and support each other. It was a choice to enter this relationship together, it is also a choice to how this relationship goes. By tapping on each others' strength will we then be able to better leverage on the available resources to lead a better life, brighter future.

Six of Staves (六杖胜沟)

A matriarch is leading her disciples to fight heretics. This card depicts the Yang Family Lady Warriors (杨门女将) setting out for war, a sign of conquest and triumph.

Daily Draw: 12 Feb 2015

Ace of Coins

With a coin in hand, the scholar is content with his placid and wealthy life. The Ace of Coins brings good news to you. It signifies the all rounded energy of the whole suit - the 'down to earth'-ness for a lack of better word, achievements, issues regarding the physical realm.

This is the start of a journey that could lead to great stability. That said, one should be prepared to put in effort and hard work down the road. It is after all the start of the suit; what happens next very much depends on how much you want that ultimate goal, how much effort you've put in, and how did you get there. Everything is a possibility from this point forth, everything you do sets some potential inertia towards a goal (not necessarily one that you seek out from the beginning).

So the advice here is to take stock of your goal(s), check your 'GPS' to make sure you are driving towards the right goal.

VI The Lovers

This card shows the Cupids of China - the god of harmony and goddess of union, with a pair of lotus flower stemming from a single stem, a pair of bats and toad, all symbols of good fortune and a happy marriage.

This card hints a sign for some blissful moments today. Spend time with your loved ones if you have somehow been neglecting them recently - work on those relationships that matter to you most. It could also be a work relationship with colleagues, bosses, or even seen om a more abstract angle, it could be a business engagement, contract signing, etc.

Keep your eye peeled for things around you or coming your way. There could very well be a moment where 2 people, processes, systems, groups or ideas come together towards towards a common goal.

By the way, Valentine's day is round the corner.. Have you planned anything for your partner? I guess it's time to do so if you haven't..

Daily Draw: 10 Feb 2015

I - The Magician

The Magician waves his flaming sword and steaming bowl of water for a ritual. Magic was sought for in the olden days for everything - for illness, personal gains and even for power.

There is no particular skill sets for magicians, to each his own to work up the ladder of power and fame. This card reminds us that each of us is different, we have different skill sets, different characters and different goals. To stand out from the rest, one needs to be imaginative and unique.

If you are looking at a project at the moment, and is having trouble with the flow of ideas, this card is reminding you to take a step out of the norm, and look at the process from a different angle. You have the resources to do it, it's just that you're unaware of them at some point along the way.

Like what we practiced at my department's retreat, we need to look at the needs of the customer. Not the superficial needs of our customers, but what they truly require. These needs should in any small way improve their way of life.

On the flip side though, it could also be a warning that someone out there is trying to deceive or cheat you right under your nose. So keep you eyes and ears peeled for signs, and you can work things out.

Daily Draw: 9 Feb 2015

Ace of Swords

The swordsman, he is one with his sword, exhibiting skill & discipline. But to master a skill, one must have great determination & initiative.

This card reiterates issues related with communication and intellectual development. Before one faces the world, he must first master his part of the swordplay, so that when others join in later, he is able to carry out all the various combinations with a partner (or more).

This is the start of a journey where you build on your communication skills and expand your intellectual development.

Trust

You will be faced with some trust issues this week. Like her, she is troubled and a little unsure of things. Water represents emotions, and it is at an unrest/disturbed state. She senses that a change is looming but she is unsure what changes will occur and how they will affect her.

The white dove signifies the universal spirit which brings good news. The energy which is the essence of all creation and life governs all change. You life like all of life is forever changing and evolving. It is pointless to try to resist change for it is the way of nature. To move forward, you must willingly surrender to the universal energy of love. Trust and allow it to be your guiding light, knowing that you have places your trust in the greatest power there is. Within you, the poser of te entire universe exists, a power full of infinite creativity. Be bold and strong fo you are the creator of your own destiny. Page of Cups

The page sits peacefully in the room enjoying his cup of wine, while it's all rainy and misty outside.

He is ignorant of the chaos outside his space. He is deep in thought, probably feeling emotional. The suit of cups talks about the adaptability / fluidity of emotions. This card also reiterates a moment of meditation, stillness and inner peace.

There is a message of loyalty going on today, and also a willingness for one to offer his services and efforts.

Daily Draw: 6 Feb 2015

Nine of Swords

This card signifies the final struggle before one reaches the peak. One man be fighting this world alone. It is (or was) a time of loss or trauma where there was a form of loss, or different points of views were apparent that may lead to conflicts. It may have been a difficult time for you during this period just past, but it is nothing but a test till you reap the rewards at #10.

Take this time to slow things down a little and reflect on what's been happening; review the various options to make things better it is now. Take this opportunity as an intellectual development, an improvement to communication or character development.

Thursday, 5 February 2015

Daily Draw: 5 Feb 2015

Seven of Coins

The seven of coins brings forth a time of harvesting, one working hard towards a goal. As with the nun, she is out 'harvesting' alms for her goal, which I believe is to support her shrine & for survival of course. This also reminds us of constant/consistent hardwork/effort to maintain your aim towards a goal. Like her, the flywhisk is a constant reminder for not killing, like how it's used to whisk away flies, instead of killing them.

As long as you goals are set and you are already executing the plans laid out for this track, then the rewards will come in due time. Take time to grow, and enjoy the progress, and process.

Wednesday, 4 February 2015

Daily Draw: 4 Feb 2015

Six of Cups

This card reminds us of times of the past. A drunken man juggling six cups, with empty cups over his head, and two more in hand, spilling its contents. The empty cups represents things that has passed, memories or sorts.

Today you will be reminded of an old past. It could be with regards to work, past relationships, past events that bothered you. These pasts are nothing but past experiences. There is nothing you can do further than to hold these cups together for a moment.

Take your time to reflect on the lesson learnt, and acknowledge the lessons, and how it impacts your current living. Drinking till you're gone is no the best solution to your issues on hand.

Tuesday, 3 February 2015

Daily Draw: 3 Feb 2015

Eight of Coins

This card brings forth the concept of gain through hardwork or windfalls.
Which are you - the hardworking apprentice or the greedy trader picking up coins? We must always remember that nothing comes from nothing. Only hard work pays more in the future. You may be rich now with all your windfall profits, but you may not possess these riches forever, and it will never be enough for you as you grow. But through hard work, we can ensure that what we earned are put into good use.

There is work to be done before you reap the riches. Take time to acknowledge what you're done, reflect and improve processes so that you know your options early instead of of waiting for the last minute; by then you would have already passed the "perfect" moment to take action.
