Daily Draw: 28 Feb 2015

Four of Staves

A repeat of this card is a reminder to us that we need to find a balance in the things we do.

I think this is for myself. 2015 has started off with quite a few things running concurrently.

1) Band(s') matters
a) TP band concert coming within a month [28 Mar 2015. Mark your calendars people.. mark them down now!! =p ] With under a month of rehearsals, we are all feeling the stress, from the music selection, and [for some] from other members of the band.

b) LYSB training/tutoring. With the departure of the resident conductor, the old guys are a little worried for the band, and it's progress. This past year has seen a degrading of student's attitude towards this CCA, kids now-a-days do not see this band as a family as much as we old birds do back in those days [or even now, for some]

c) Kim Seng Winds. With the lack of availability of regular practices from TP & LYSB, and a deep wanting to continue this trait/interest, the invitation to join KSW seems like a draw to fulfill this 'want'.

That said, if all 3 bands are to run concurrently, then I'll have to commit the whole of Saturday to rehearsals - LYSB in the morning, TP in the afternoon, and KSW in the evening. And if I do, someone will be left out for a day, which is a major consideration for me when making decisions that relates to band commitments.

2) Work matters
With the change in my section head, things have been moving back on track for me towards what I was seeking for. I have been given more opportunities and ideas about marketing the career, rather than just managing my BAUs. I do feel that more support coming from my boss now as compared to when I first joined the company. I do appreciate and give my #gratitude to this change in my career track.

More programmes have been suggested, or brought up by higher management, that requires marketing, and also more creative work that needs to be done. However without having extra help due to the limited headcount, my 'to do' list just builds up over time. As at this point, I already have 16 items items to take care off, and some of them are actually due mid March.

3) Young Living
Having signed up for almost a year, I (we) truly believe in the products, as we have seen and heard about how the oils have benefited many. We truly want to make things work and run well, but because of our full-time jobs, we see that as a huge wall that is blocking our progress. That said, I am grateful for the acceptance and willingness of Tracy to try out the products and for her support to my team. Really hope this line will grow, and more people can benefit from the help and greatness the essential oils can offer. I can personally see that interest among colleagues has increased when I diffuse oils in office - which is really great news for us.. [so if anyone is keen to know more, please feel free to ask]

*****
So.. all that is happening in my life this year. That's why I believe that this card is a reminder to myself. It appeared just at the right time in my life and career. I think I need to manage my time better, manage the things I want to do, and see the true reason and how I am going to do these. I believe, and I know I can do it, I just need to set some time aside to set my priorities right on track.
