 II - The High Priestess

Today you are requested to dig deeper within yourself for answers. Why is this happening instead of that? Why was I treated as such and not as such?

You already know the answer deep within. Its unknown to you at this moment because you are not giving them the mind or heart to manifest into an answer. You might just thing that it's just a hunch, or just a passing thought. But have you actually thought deeper into them? Things happen for a reason, but before they know the reasons why, one needs to acknowledge those happenings or ques or hunches.

Weekly draw: 29 Mar - 31 Mar 2015

 Arthemis (ar'teh-mis)- Selfhood

I am who I am and I know who I am,
I can take care of myself under all circumstances, and I can let other care for me.
I can choose
There is no authority higher than my own, my powers of discernment are finely honed.
I am autonomous,
I am free from the influence of others' opinions
I am able to separate that which needs sparation, so a clear decision can be reached.
I think for myself,
I set my sights and aim my bow, my arrow always find their mark

Arthemis has shot her arrow of selfhood into your life to help you focus on yourself. You have been spending too much of your time to service, and it's time to take a breather, and pamper yourself. For the rest of March 2015, think about yourself first before helping others. It's just three days, you have always put others before you, and it's not selfish to think about yourself for just three days.

Do justice to yourself for once, set up clear boundaries of selfhood, and not let others define them for you. You know deep within when others have stepped/pushed too far. Speak up and make known your stand. Tolerance has its limits too, you know it very well, its just that you have not opened your mind to give thoughts/attention to those silent whispers.

Five of Swords

Instead of being used for defending honour, these five swords were brandished for personal gain. Five swords denotes that the qualities of the flower are being encroached by dishonour.

This card denotes conquest, defeat and degradation. One must be prepared that adversaries may arise. Disagreements may arise. Take a step back and reflect before making a decision or reacting to an 'opponent'.

Six of Pentacles

A day to be giving. Giving comes in multiple ways - giving to the less fortunate in your physical realm; or spiritually, giving in to your inner demons, or giving energies, that does not serve you anymore, back to the universe.

Everyone can do their part for gifting to the less fortunate. But how many can actually resist giving in to their desires, temptations; or sit through a quiet session of releasing energies back to the universe ( or even sending good vibes to others).

In this time and day, people are so caught up with work or maintaining their lifestyles, that they forgot to live their lives, enjoy he subtleties of life's simplicity, be a part of the network of energies around you, and not be apart of it.

If you could, find some time to sit quietly, let go of work in your mind, let go of concerns in your heart, and let go of energies in your soul. Let them go freely during this period, and find that centre core within yourself - that drop of peace amongst chaos, that ray of light amidst darkness. Take long steady breaths.. Let go of whatever that does not serve you anymore.. Only when you intentionally let go these 'burdens' will you be able to let the other goodness fill you within.  You'll be surprised at what you have missed out for holding on to the past too tightly.

The past has passed, we learn from it to build the present.
We built a fulfilling present, to enjoy a brighter future.

Nine of Swords

Be careful of changes today. Things are about to happen and you might not be ready for such a change. Stand firm of your ground and adapt like the willow in the wind, flow with the wind and not against it. Do consider the aftermath before you take that step. Consider the consequences. Until you are ready, sit back and watch the situation first.

Ten of Pentacles

Somehow I think I get the drift of what the cards I've been drawing want to say. All the swords and pentacles that I've been drawing, it's telling me to look at the practicalities of the things I'm doing/working on.

Watching the news about the passing of our founding father, Mr Lee Kuan Yew, hearing his believes, how he manages his life, his family, his party, his country.
We must always consider the practicality of our actions if we want to seek abundance as the final outcome. Is the way we work fitting enough for the outcomes we seek? Is there any way to improve? Look deeper and you'll feel the answer in the deepest heart of hearts, mind of minds, soul of souls.

Remembering Lee Kuan Yew (1923 - 2015)

LEE KUAN YEW (1923 - 2015)

This week we mourn the loss of a great man of Singapore, the nation's founding father, Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

He would be greatly missed by the people of Singapore, especially those who have went through tough times back in the earlier years of the nation's growth.

RIP Mr Lee Kuan Yew, you have done much for the nation, let us return the favour by honouring your life, and by bringing Singapore further up the scales of the world. You will be badly missed at this year's national day. But fear not, we fly the Singapore flag high and proud. Thank you Mr Lee. Thank you for gifting us this wonderful country we are so proud to call our home.

Deepest condolences to PM Lee Hsien Loong and his family.

Two of Swords

Twos resembles a state of being balanced and/or at a crossroads. After a season of turmoil, the season is starting to cool, concord and harmony are established.

Today is a heavy hearted day for all of us here in Singapore. But we must forge on to a better tomorrow. Find balance in the mind, body and soul, and believe that you can do it. The path has been laid, the rest is all up to us to build on.

Weekly Draw: 22 Mar - 28 Mar 2015

Kuan Yin (pronounced as koo-wan'yin) - Compassion

I made the vow and kept my word,
I reached enlightenment.
But rather than pass over to the state of eternal bliss,
I retained human form till all beings attain enlightenment.
Keeping human form enabled me to know more deeply the pain others experience.
Because of my deep feelings, because of my understanding of misery and suffering, because of my decision,
I am called the Compassionate One,
She Whose Name Alleviates Al Suffering,
But wouldn't you prefer to wait, feelling what others feel, suffering what others suffer, knowing their pain as your own, wait till the end of all suffering and pain, till all beings attain enlightenment?
For me there was no other choice.

In Japan, she is known as Kwannon.

She brings compassion back to our heart of hearts, mind of minds, soul of souls. When caught in a situation that is uncomfortable, breath deeply and release slowly and through your heart, feel it expand. Take a trip via your heart to meet her. Enjoy the time spent with her, take in all the passion, compassion, pureness of light into the deepest corners of your heart.

Seven of Swords

This card signifies new plans, wishes and fortitude. Peach blossoms also reminds us of perseverance, endeavoring and hope.

Traditionally, the 7 of swords warns us of theft, someone trying to steal the limelight from another. It cautions us of whom we work with, whom we interact with. However, we should have the confidence in ourselves, for the feelings we have for others/things/situations, be it caution, infatuation, or passion. Go with your gut, and not be swayed by gossips/influence.

Knight of Wands

The knight rides on with a casual stride, seeking mental/spiritual achievement unlike other horsemen, where they are well amoured ready for war.

We must not be too stubborn in our believes or thinking for we will be stagnant in one's spiritual well-being. One should challenge oneself to tread into the unknown waters once in a while. Something needs changing if we want to move on, and fight on for a better future.

Thursday, 19 March 2015

Daily Draw: 19 Mar 2015

Three of Wands

The three of wands, like the morning glory talks about practical knowledge, business acume, strength, enterprise, negotiations and trade.

Please reflect on your duties and deeds. Like the morning glory, we must always learn to adapt to situations, and learn from the different experiences to manage future engagements better. Only when we reflect on the past, and learn from then, can we them grow to be better persons. Only then, do we have the strength to proceed further.

Seven of Pentacles

This card highlights the ingenuity of attitude and hard work put in for the things we do. Always put in the 100% effort and attention to your work, family & friends (or even a hobby, if you wish).

This card also talks about progress; something that has been on your mind, is making a move towards progression. Keep faith and things will go well; take haste, and you'll be taking two steps back again.

Daily Draw: 17 Mar 2015

Knight of Swords

The knight is set for war, all amoured and prepared to face what's charging on.

This card asks us, 'what are you charging for?', 'what are you rushing into?', 'why are you reacting as such to a situation you are facing?'
It calls us to seek deeper into ourselves, reflecting the true reasons we are reacting the way we are to any situation. Are we being too rash? Have we thought things through before we act upon it. Don't just dash into any given situation, thinking we are the hero. Yes we may be, but heroes do live to tell the day. Stories of the dead doesn't last as long as the living.

Monday, 16 March 2015

Daily Draw: 16 Mar 2015

Six of Pentacles

This card reminds us about the generosity we possess in all of us. Through our busy lives we live by in the modern times, we tend to forget the less fortunate, and lend a helping hand (or give up a seat) to them when they needed more than you.

People tend to see the present state of others, and set a distinctive impression of who they are, what they do, what they are up to, and how different they are to you. Yes they may be different from you now, but where they come from, how they have lived their lives, is no different than what you do. The things they enjoy are no less than what you expect to have. Don't just see the material gains in whatever we do, but see pass that, in view of a better future. Whatever we do or however we react causes a ripple in the lives we interact with.

Good or bad we can't say for sure, but what we must remember is that as long as our intentions are set proper, we shouldn't worry how the ripples are formed, or how far they travel - for a good intention sets forth many other good intentions. You may not 'receive' the positive reciprocation as soon as you want to, but it will come back to you. Patience is a good virtue to possess, never expect great returns, for you will be hit by even greater disappointment when a bad one comes first.

The priest is seated in meditation, giving a sermon to townsmen, who are there to seek enlightenment, gathering wisdom from a higher spiritual being. The Hierophant shares about humility, mercy, goodness, compassion. He is one who is well learnt of traditions and culture.

King of Cups

The art of lacquering in old Japan was a painstaking process and resulted in beautiful furniture, dishes, ornaments, boxes and many other items. Lacquerware from the Edo Period still survives today, even though modern pieces decay, because care was taken in old times to ensure the longevity of the works.

This card talks about responsibility and creativity, being a learnt person, professional and liberal.

This is so in tune with today.
Was at work this morning, and had some time for casual chat with the boss, and topics hover around responsibility and professionalism. Am grateful for chances of such casual chats, for his work/life experiences do give perspective to the work I do.

And the afternoon was spent volunteering as a counter for 'Make a Wish' flag day. It was our first time volunteering for such a cause. The deed aside, I thought what the volunteers in the room did was a sense of creativity. We were supposed to pack the money not only by the value, but also by recency (new & old coins packed separately). After a while, the sorting team (people counting & sorting the money) was faster that the packing team (collating the coins into the same bag), so we were short of bags to use for a moment. Then someone started asking around for certain coins for exchange, so that they'll need to use lesser bags to pack the money. This I thought was a simple act of creativity, which incidentally eases everyone's process.

VIII - Justice

This card combines both Buddhist qualities of Justice and Mercy. The Justice Diety, Fufo, is usually depicted with an intensely fierce expression, holding a sword in one hand and a rope in the other. The sword is used to punish wrongdoers, and the rope is used to bind them. The goddess og mercy, Kwannon, is a female deity who originally was male. She guides those who have led virtuous lives to the Pure Land, or paradise.

This woman holding a balance is just an ordinary Japanese woman. She, like all of us, determines whether her lessons on dying will be an encounter with the god of justice or the goddess of mercy. In either case, she will meet with compassion. Fudo, for all his ferocity, ultimately wishes to teach all beings to achieve enlightenment through goodness and love.

This card reminds us to seek harmony and balance in what we do. For all we do, we should always act with good intentions and impartiality.

This card reminds us to be gracious hosts when guests visits. One should be sincere in what they are delivering or working on, trying their best to fulfill their roles & responsibilities. Queen of Pentacles

The Queen is 'rich' with prosperity, abundance and comfort. She seeks that practicality of things and has seen much in life. Through her life, she has planted many seeds, and is now enjoying the fruits of her labour.

You have planted your seeds and it's time to reap what you have sown. It's time to enjoy the rewards or reflect unto the outcomes. The Queen, being the more emotional figure of the court cards, is a reminder to look into the emotional factors that guides your decisions, consider the practicality of those decisions - are they worth the effort?

Do be careful where you're treading today, keep a calm head when making decisions. Watch out for your health too.

Oshun (oh-shun') - Sensuality

Oh let me delight you with beauty, so the eye may dance with joy,
Let me seduce you with scents, so that your nose inhales pleasure,
Let me tantalize your taste, till your tongue quivers,
Let me caress you with sound, that makes your ears sing and sing,

And adorn your beauty with golden bracelets and honey and perfume,
And when all is experienced, when all your senses have been given play,
When your spirit from the stars connect in a blissful way,
with your body from the earth, then you will know sensuality.

Wholeness is nourished by focusing your attention and time on your body., respecting and giving play to your senses and your sensuality. Oshun is here to tell you that it is time for sensuality. She invites you to follow her lead.

King of Swords

A repeat of this card, the King of Swords represents authority, control, command, being professional, and a force.

I personally feel this card is a reminder to us that regardless how small, we are all a force not to be reckond with. What ever we say or do will set off it's own ripples which will affect the perception from others or how they may react. No matter how insignificant you may think your actions may be, it would cause ripples that may affect others.

One example may be (I believe) was to repeatedly publicise / emphasise that one is not attending an event, which when others got to know, also decided that the event is not worth attending (or something to that extent). When attendance is low at the event, it may cause some issues / hindrance to how well the team performs.

Daily Draw: 6 Mar 2015

Seven of Cups

This card represents a sense of fantasy, imagination or illusion. There could be some daydreaming happening, probably forming foolish whims. This may form illusionary successes along the way.

Though you are happy with your work, you should also take some time to reflect / re-examine the situation.

It's easy to enjoy the summer sun and watch bees fly over the river, but do keep in mind what you are doing, and reflect on your issues.

XVI - The Tower

The tower is struck by a bolt on lightning and breaks apart. This card is an indication to us that something will happen to distrub your norm, and peacefulness. However, do keep in mind that as long as your foundations are firm and well, you will build on and recover quickly. With your new experiences, the next tower will be stronger, firmer and more ready/prepared for what's to come.

Nine of Wands

A repeat of card.

Someone, somewhere out there is faced with an tight issue and might be having problems with releasing him-/her-self from the problem.

Take time to cool yourself, keep your mind, body, and soul calm.. meditate with this card (if you can). Have a clear mind.. take a deep, slow breath.. imagine yourself as the lotus, deep within a thick mass of mud. Imagine that the mud, is what is bogging you down at the moment.
Imagine yourself taking in the rich nutrients from the mud through your skin (like how you will resolve an issue), immerse yourself in that richness of energies (acknowledge the lessons you must learn from these experiences). Grow your roots, wide and deep, set your foundations right.
Grow your first shoot (act upon the lessons learned) and grow yourself, reach out to the opening, to the Sun.
Be the lotus, although we grow from the dirty mud, we will grow out of it cleansed and full of beauty.

Daily Draw: 2 March 2015

Nine of Wands

Lotuses and Strawberries growing together in such close proximity is indeed a miracle as these two plants require very diverse environments to grow well - muddy water for lotus, and sand for strawberries.

This card is a jog to our attention to expect difficult times and changes. There may be hidden energies around you, so take care, and keep yourself alert as there might be instances of deception, discipline and order. It could also be a signal to take pause in a current situation/struggle.

Sunday, 1 March 2015

Daily Draw: 1 Mar 2015

King of Swords

The shogun ruler sits relaxed in his palace. The king's lower garment is decorated with the stylized crest of his family. His checked upper gown is unusual in that aristocratic period. His outer kimono is decorated with a scattered-motif design which became very popular during the Edo Period. The flower depicts a paulownia, a symbol of justice and benevolence.

The King of Swords represents power, authority, nobility and the law. His sword is the sign of his authority, whereas the fan, a popular accessory among all social classes, is a symbol of refinement. Although he is unswayable, he rules justly and without tyranny. The originality of garment designs denotes the creativity, abundance of ideas and analytical ability.

This card represents an active and determined energy, or someone with many ideas, thoughts and designs.

Sheila Na Gig (shee'la-nah-hig) - Opening

I flash my vulva for all to see,
I stretch it wide, the gateway that all comes through, the passageway to life.
I say come thrugh my door way, open yourself to what is.
If you have something important, show it, so everyone can see.
I am the opening to this world and sacred ans the silly, the wild and the wooly, the bold and the brazen.
I am the Hag opened by so many turnings broken down, broken in, broken through.
I am the portal to life, and I say Open Up!

Sheila Na Gig, an Irish goddess of birth and death, is portrayed here as an old hag (woman of age and wisdom) in all her glory, thin and haggard, yet vibrant and defiant in the beauty of her age. Beauty is the right of all wonan to claim. She dares you to look at her, face your fears of aging, and triumph in your celebration of what will age and die.

She's a reminder for us this week that we shouldn't fear in the things we are doing. As long as you are truthful, there is nothing to fear.

Monthly Draw: Mar 2015

Maat (maht) - Justice

I am the law of truth the path of integrity preserver of the code and i my heart justice lives,
I weigh all deeds against my feather of truth,
I weigh all deeds and should they prove the heavier then I give the lessons,
I create the opportunities, I open the pathways,
I graciously bestow that which needs to be learned to right all wrongs

Maat is here this March to assist you to bringing justice into your life. You might be caught in an unfair/unjust/unreasonable situation. Or is feeling that others are not practicing integrity like you do when you work/in the way you treat others, and you are wounded and seeking justice.
Have you seen it from another perspective? Perhaps you are being too rigid in your ways? Is there an inner judge who condemns you for any infractions in his/her rule?

Now is the time to look at your life and invite justice in. It is the time to repay all debts, to strike a fair and reasonable balance in all your dealings. Maat says that the way to wholeness for you lies in accepting the loving nature of justice which seeks to right all wrongs by administering the lessons needed.
